1. Acceptance of Terms
By initiating the Alastair Free Trial (the "Trial"), you ("User") explicitly agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you must not use Alastair.

2. Trial Duration and Extension
The Trial lasts for one (1) week from the activation date. Alastair reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to extend the Trial duration if the User agrees to provide regular feedback. Alastair may terminate the Trial at any time without prior notice. Upon Trial completion, users may opt-in to subscribe for continued access at a pre agreed rate.

3. Features and Limitations
During the Trial, Users have access exclusively to Alastair's AI-powered investor relations email drafting service ("Service"). The Trial is limited strictly to one (1) user per account. Users may request additional trials for colleagues by contacting Alastair; such trials are granted solely at Alastair's discretion and may be restricted or terminated at any time.

4. Account Management
Trial accounts are set up manually by Alastair. Users will access the Service by initiating email communication through the provided account credentials. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of these credentials and must notify Alastair immediately if unauthorized access is suspected.

5. Termination of Trial
Users may terminate their Trial at any point by providing written notice to Alastair via email. Alastair reserves the right to immediately terminate any User's Trial for misuse, illegal activities, violations of these Terms, or for any reason Alastair deems necessary.

6. Data Protection and Privacy
Users may share data at their discretion. All user data will be securely stored in a Pinecone database. Alastair complies strictly with UK GDPR and data protection laws. Full details of Alastair's data collection, processing, storage, and privacy practices are outlined in our Privacy Policy, which Users are required to review and accept separately.

7. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights related to Alastair, including but not limited to software, algorithms, databases, AI-generated content, and related documentation, remain exclusively owned by Alastair. Users grant Alastair an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to retain, use, analyze, and enhance content generated during the Trial for product improvement purposes.

8. Liability, Warranty, and Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind, explicit or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability. Users acknowledge and accept that Alastair may provide inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate suggestions and agree that independent verification of all AI-generated content is their sole responsibility. Alastair shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from or related to the use or inability to use the Service. Alastair’s total liability for any claims related to the Trial or Service shall be strictly limited to a maximum of £100.

9. Acceptable Use Policy
Users must not use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited activities, including but not limited to the distribution of harmful or illegal content or misuse of the Service. Violations will result in immediate termination of the Trial, potential legal action, and notification of appropriate authorities as necessary.

10. Transition to Paid Subscription
Users will not automatically transition to a paid subscription upon Trial completion. Users wishing to subscribe must explicitly request continued access from Alastair. Pricing and subscription terms will be communicated clearly and directly via email.

11. User Responsibility for Uploaded Content
Users must not upload or share any sensitive, confidential, or non-public information unless they have the necessary rights and consents to do so. By using the Service, Users confirm they are authorised to share any data they provide and acknowledge that Alastair may use such data for the purposes of improving the product during the Trial. Alastair accepts no responsibility for any consequences arising from unauthorised data uploads.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these Terms or the use of Alastair shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Amendments to Terms
Alastair reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms at any time. Notice of any significant changes will be communicated to Users via email. Continued use of the Service following amendments constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
